Artist Statement
During the last ten years I have been working on several series of paintings that deal with weightlessness, loss, and life transitions. These new paintings are about the the seen and unseen. The paintings are performances. Figures in vivid color zones becoming metaphors of time and space. Each painting represents significant turning points in life, much like the device used by the screenwriter to develop and drive the story to its conclusion. These plot points take you to existential voids. Meaning of life is an eternal mystery. Time is the great mask that we can never unveil.
